In some circumstances it isn't possible to place the signal on the left hand side. It is allowed to place the signal on the right hand when it is indicated with a arrow. Only the main signals where a restricted speed is in force can be considered.

On double track lines the main signals are placed on the left side for the left hand track (Normal track). The signals for the right hand track (wrong main track) are placed on the right hand site. These signals always flash.

Recently, resignaling took place between between junction Westrem and Gent where the signals have been renewed and placed at higher intervals. At Westrem they have placed the new signal over the old.
